Marathi Manoos

Well couple of weeks back Maharashtra Navnirman Sena activists beat up north Indian aspirants appearing for the Railway Recruitment Board entrance exam for the Western region, saying that North-Indians are taking away employment from the local people (Marathi Manoos). Well is that the real problem Maharashtra is facing? Well I think its not even 0.001% of total problem Maharashtra is facing.

Today Maharashtra is having acute power shortage. Everyday there is 3-4 hours of power cut in pune itself. Who is running the Maharashtra State Electricity Board, the "Marathi manoos" himself.

Even there are water problems in many parts of Maharashtra and Pune also. So who is heading the water resource department in Maharashtra and PMC in pune, its "Marathi Manoos" himself.

The quality of roads, infrastructure , transport facility available sucks here in pune, so who is heading the Pune Municipal Corporation, the "Marathi Manoos" himself.

So as u can see there are basic lot of problems in Maharashtra and which really affects the Maharastrians, but this is not really been addressed by the MNS.

The Railway recruitment or North-Indian problem is hardly affecting 0.001% of Maharastrians. As stated above there are lot of basic problems which Maharastrians are facing but nobody is addressing it. I think the marathi manoos himself is an enemy of marathi manoos cause he is not bothered to improve the facilities of Mahastrians staying in the state.

I know lot of Marathi people who are with Raj Thackeray for the way he fights for rights of Marathi Manoos. But as I said early they forget that North-Indians are hardly 0.001% of problem , Maharashtra has lot of basic problems that are not been solved by the departments of various government organization which are been headed by Marathi Manoos himself.

Hue n Cry for Sachin Tendulkar

Well since couple of dayz I am listening to lots of hullabaloo about Gilchrist comments on Tendulkar.  Lot of former Indian cricketers and so called cricket experts (whz his name Boria Majumdar I think so) are lambasting Gilchrist for his quotes in his autobiography.  Now what the hell is their problem with Gilchirst.  I am neither a big fan of Gilchrist or Tendulkar (even neither of cricket), but then people telling that Sachin has scored 12,000 runs and he is icon, so he cannot be dishonest.

Now what has 12,000 runs has to do with honesty, ultimately Sachin is a human being and he can be dishonest.  I have seen Gilchirst walking off more times compared to sachin whenever he is out on the field.  Neway Gilchirst was in better position compared to former cricketers and experts to say weather sachin had lied or not.  We just cannot lambaste him even when we are completely ignorant about the facts what happened in the field during the “Monkeygate” scandal.  I think INDIA is too chauvinist for their self made icons.

Ashok Chaturvedi - Chief R&AW

An interesting aricle I read on Mr.Ashok Chaturvedi in Wikipedia which I felt like sharing with you guys.

Ashok Chaturvedi is the present chief of India's external intelligence agency the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW or R&AW) and is designated as Secretary (R) in the Cabinet Secretariat. Under divisive circumstances Chaturvedi succeeded P.K.H. Tharakan, a 1968 batch officer of the IPS Kerala cadre who retired on January 31, 2007. During his tenure as RAW Chief the agency has suffered a string of scandals and intelligence failures. His list of public embarrassments has littered the pages of the Indian newspapers, but Chaturvedi also became the focus of the international press as well.
Chaturvedi was part of the Indian Police Service (IPS) as a 1970 batch officer from the Madhya Pradesh cadre before joining RAW's own service cadre the Research and Analysis Service (RAS). Chaturvedi, who was an analyst on Bangladesh and Nepal, had also served in the United Kingdom and Canada besides a stint in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir.[1]

The Selection Controversy
Ashok Chaturvedi, is related to B.K. Chaturvedi, who was at one time a highly influential bureaucrat and at the time of Ashok Chaturvedi's selection as head of R&AW, B.K. Chaturvedi was cabinet secretary. During his three-year tenure as cabinet secretary, B.K. Chaturvedi became an alternative center of power in New Delhi and had wrestled away the authority of the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).[2]
India's external intelligence agency operates on the basis of seniority and time spent in the organization, which helped Ashok Chaturvedi get into a position to be considered as the head of R&AW. He had previously been overlooked for promotion within R&AW on two separate occasions and it is believed that several government secretaries expressed their strong reservation in restoring his seniority. However, B.K. Chaturvedi dismissed their opinions and controversially declined to excuse himself from the committee which promoted and re-graded his relative in the organization.[
At the start of 2007, there had been a delay in officially announcing the new head of R&AW because of a torrent of protests from the country's vast intelligence community that Ashok Chaturvedi could be chosen over perceivably more experienced individuals. There were serious concerns that he would damage India's national strategic interests. It is also believed that India's National Security Adviser, Mayankote Kelath Narayanan, wanted the outgoing R&AW chief, P.K.H. Tharakan, to object to Ashok Chaturvedi's promotion as head of the intelligence agency. As a result an announcement on the new head of RAW was held back as the government wanted the row settled first.
However, Ashok Chaturvedi formally replaced Tharakan on February 1, 2007. Once again, B.K. Chaturvedi had attended the promotions panel that decided the head of R&AW and played a pivotal role in helping his relative take charge of the organization. Ashok Chaturvedi's appointment resulted in senior members of R&AW leaving the agency in apparent protest. Narayanan eventually endorsed Ashok Chaturvedi’s appointment despite serious misgivings. [6]

Personality Cult & Protégés
Since Chaturvedi took over as the head of R&AW, the agency has suffered a string of scandals and intelligence failures which appear to have damaged its reputation. While in a meeting abroad he left classified documents in a non-secure location. Chaturvedi has also been described as being part of the intelligence clique in India who had developed close relations with the Soviet Union and the communist bloc during the Cold War. There is now a perception that Chaturvedi's intent is to re-establish close relations with Russia's external Intelligence agency the Sluzhba Vneshney Razvedki (SVR) or the Foreign Intelligence Service.
Unlike Pakistan's Inter Services Intelligence, which has been the center of attention in South Asia, India's external intelligence service has managed to avoid attracting attention to itself and operated stealthily. However, this is beginning to change with the agency coming under greater scrutiny with much of this being attributed to Chaturvedi's tenure as head of R&AW.[9][10]
The Khaleej Times in an extensive investigative article, stated that Chaturvedi has used his current position to systematically downgrade and sideline all his perceived rivals within the organisation, replacing them with people loyal to himself, creating a tremendous amount of bitterness and resentment. It also added that Chaturvedi has been compared to the former director of the FBI, J Edgar Hoover, with some accusing him of having "developed a personality cult around himself, portraying the impression that he is untouchable".[9]
Chaturvedi's protégé has been identified as Sanjiv Tripathi who is being groomed to take over in 2009. He was personally selected by Chaturvedi to assess sensitive intelligence dossiers. However, according to the Khaleej Times, Tripathi is an administrator with no prior experience as an intelligence analyst. The Indian intelligence community has dubbed Chaturvedi and Tripathi "Dumb and Dumber" a reference to the Jim Carey film.
Chaturvedi has also been at loggerheads with several members of the Congress-led coalition, including the National Security Advisor MK Narayanan. At a conference in December 2007 in Bahrain, Narayanan warned about the threat of international terrorism and its intention to hit at economic targets in the Middle East and South Asia. However, Chaturvedi and Tripathi took a completely opposite view and decided to downgrade R&AW's focus on the threat of terrorism.[
Chaturvedi has also alienated himself from people within his own organization by ostracizing senior personnel and creating a culture of fear. Such is the level of animosity toward Chaturvedi that it is rumored he will have to leave India once he retires and it is for this reason that he has been trying to position his protégé Sanjiv Tripathi to take over his post in an attempt to pre-empt any retribution.

The V.K. Singh Book Dispute
Controversy and media speculation about his future has also continued to follow Chaturvedi's career with his failed attempts to ban the publication and sale of the book, India's External Intelligence: Secrets of Research and Analysis Wing R&AW, written by Major General V.K. Singh, formerly a colleague and Joint Secretary in R&AW. In the book, V.K. Singh made a number of claims about R&AW including petulant conduct from a senior officer within the organization who went on unauthorised leave for eight months after being overlooked for promotion and who was tagged with malfeasance and ineptitude. The book was published and distributed both in India and abroad in June 2007 and the matter had largely been forgotten.[
However, Chaturvedi curiously resurrected the issue months later when V.K. Singh's home was raided on September 21, 2007 by officials from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). A case was registered against V.K. Singh under the Official Secrets Act of India (OSA). The following day the offices of the publishers of the book, Manas Publications, were also raided.[17][18]
Addressing a media conference where former intelligence officials were present to support him, V.K. Singh spectacularly revealed that the R&AW officer who went on an eight month leave of absence without permission was in fact Ashok Chaturvedi.[19]
Singh said the R&AW chief's absence from work was "an act of gross indiscipline…can he (Chaturvedi) bring discipline to the organization if he does not attend office for eight months?"[19]
The investigative magazine, Outlook, stated that Chaturvedi appeared to have a personal vendetta against V.K. Singh. They also claimed that sources from the CBI had confirmed to them that the RAW officer, mentioned in VK Singh's book, who went on unofficial leave for eight months was indeed Chaturvedi.[20]
The raid on V.K. Singh's house has also been embarrassing for Chaturvedi as initially the wrong address, belonging to another retired R&AW official, was raided in Gurgaon, east Delhi. It took the officials another three hours before they finally reached the correct residence. Ironically, the whole controversy has embarrassed the Indian government and revived the sales of Singh's book. In fact, the publishers ordered another print run of 3,000 copies because of the high demand. The whole incident has also created a new debate over the freedom of expression in India and the level of public accountability of the countries' intelligence agencies. Legal experts also believe it would be a futile attempt to charge V.K. Singh under the Official Secrets Act, particularly as other former intelligence officials have released books that have been deemed to be more damaging in terms of disclosing R&AW's secrets, but no action was ever taken against them.
Chaturvedi had sanctioned publication of a book written by Shankaran Nair, a former head of RAW, in which the Gandhi family, particularly former prime minister Indira Gandhi, is reported to have been behind a number of controversial deals involving bribery. It has been questioned as to why Chaturvedi tried to gag V.K. Singh yet allowed Nair's book to be published without any scrutiny. This has brought Chaturvedi into a direct confrontation with the Nehru-Gandhi Family.

After V.K. Singh book dispute, Chaturvedi issued a directive wanting all R&AW's current employees to sign a declaration that they won't write about their careers after they leave the agency. Opinion, however, is divided on the issue as many say it's unfair to censor such voices. The declaration wants to bar officers from writing about the agency even after the two-year cooling off period post-retirement. The new ruling would mean that officers would have to take permission to write and even then it cannot be published without prior clearance from the agency. The declaration says for any violation the officer will be held liable for action, such as no pension, to charges under the Official Secrets Act. And whoever doesn't sign could be removed from R&AW. Some have suggested that Chaturvedi is concerned about other R&AW officers exposing him further when either they leave the organization or when he retires himself.[25][26]

The Colombo Spy Scandal
In October 2007 another highly damaging controversy erupted for Chaturvedi when it transpired R&AW was forced to recall one of its officers who was stationed at the Indian High Commission in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Ravi Nair, who held the rank of Joint Secretary within R&AW, was sent back to New Delhi when it transpired that he had developed irregular relations with a Chinese woman. Officials posted at the Indian High Commission, sent reports about Nair to their respective departments paving the way for his recall. What was of particular concern, was that Nair had started the relationship with the same woman during a previous posting to the Indian Consulate in Hong Kong. He apparently continued to maintain ties with her after he was posted to Colombo in 2006.[27][28]
Infighting within R&AW also may have led to the Nair's recall from Sri Lanka. In fact, Nair's activities had aroused suspicion prior to his posting in Colombo, whilst at the agency's Chennai office when it was alleged he was involved in another extramarital affair. Following reports from the Chennai office, then head of R&AW P.K.H. Tharakan, directed his second-in-command at the time and the current R&AW chief Ashok Chaturvedi to conduct an inquiry and take suitable steps. However, Chaturvedi did not take any action and conversely Nair's name was put forward for the Colombo posting, considered one of R&AW's most sensitive stations. Outlook Magazine stated that had Chaturvedi conducted an inquiry and taken action at Tharakan's behest, Nair would never have been considered for the posting to Sri Lanka and R&AW could have saved itself the embarrassment Nair has caused.[29][30]
The Colombo and Chennai scandals were apparently not Nair's first transgression. At various other foreign postings and travels, several allegations were filed against him in internal R&AW reports by senior intelligence officers. Prior to his posting in Sri Lanka, Nair had previously been stationed to the United States, Bhutan, Pakistan and Hong Kong but despite all the controversy surrounding him, Nair continued to receive support from Chaturvedi and another former head of R&AW, Shankaran Nair. Instead of being reprimanded by Chaturvedi, Nair has been allowed to carry on with his duties.

The Pakistan Intelligence Failure
In December 2007, it was revealed that there had been a massive intelligence failure inside R&AW. It was in relation to the state of emergency declared by the President of Pakistan, Pervez Musharraf. Apparently, just days before Musharraf installed emergency rule, Chaturvedi had advised the Indian Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, that the situation in Pakistan was stable and that there was no chance that Musharraf would declare martial law.[9]
Not anticipating any major change in Pakistan, Chaturvedi did not feel the need to prepare for any unpredictable change in circumstances. On November 3, 2007, Musharraf suspended the constitution and declared a state of emergency. New Delhi was caught completely off guard and the Indian prime minister apparently "was livid."

The Nepal Exposure
Unlike his predecessors who specialised in Pakistan, Chaturvedi is the first head of India's Intelligence agency whose area of expertise is Nepal but in December 2007 the R&AW Chief faced another embarrassing scandal when the 'Nepal Weekly' magazine revealed that R&AW was trying to interfere in the internal political dynamics of Nepal. The magazine also revealed the names of various R&AW agents working at the Indian embassy in the Nepalese capital, Kathmandu which included Suresh Dhundiya, R&AW's station chief in Kathmandu, and his deputies Alok Tiwari posted as First Secretary (Education) and K. V. Johri, a counsellor. It was also publicized that Dhundiya was being replaced as station chief by Alok Joshi. This revelation resulted in Joshi being exposed before he even assumed his new position thus compromising R&AW's intelligence apparatus in Nepal. To make matters worse, Nepalese newspapers were also able to find out the detailed travel plans of Chaturvedi's visit to Nepal in December 2007, including the airline he flew on and which hotel he stayed in.[34][35] [36] [37]
Chaturvedi was trying to prop up the Nepalese Congress Party ahead of the country's April 2008 general elections and enhance R&AW's strategic interests inside the country. However, his much publicized Nepal strategy seriously backfired when the rival Maoists did exceedingly well in the elections.
Chaturvedi forced the interim government of Girija Prasad Koirala to award a contract to an Indian firm for a hydropower project. It has also been alleged that Chaturvedi may have financially benefited personally from the deal. Questions have been raised in India as to why the head of an Indian intelligence agency was promoting a commercial company in Nepal. [39] [40]
The timing of these events coincided with worsening relations between India and Nepal. In a snub to India, Nepal's Foreign Minister Sahana Pradhan requested a high level Chinese delegation visiting Kathmandu to extend the Tibet rail into Nepal. The request carries significance against the backdrop of Nepal's warning to India not to go ahead with a proposed highway along the India-Nepal border.[35]
The Telegraph Weekly of Nepal commented that "With R&AW facing continuous debacle in its Nepal affairs, it is highly likely that the R&AW machinery will come in a heavy way in order to regain its lost ground in Nepal. Chaturvedi is being told to pack up by the New Delhi set-up, it is talked".

Diplomatic Faux Pas
In a number of important meetings, Chaturvedi did not appear to know who he was actually meeting. On one particular occasion, Timothy J. Keating, the commander of the United States Pacific Command made an official trip to India in August 2007 and met a number of senior Indian defense and intelligence chiefs including Chaturvedi. However, Chaturvedi did not know who Keating was, and kept referring to him as John Negroponte, the U.S. deputy Secretary of State. In another episode, before leaving on a trip to China in January, Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh asked Chaturvedi for a briefing about his perspectives of the current senior leadership in China. Instead of delegating the task to the China section within R&AW, Chaturvedi attempted to put together his own report which talked about Jiang Zemin and Zhu Rongji, the former president and premier respectively, both of whom retired in 2003. [
In another incident Afghan President Hamid Karzai even complained to Manmohan Singh over the way he was spoken to by the R&AW chief. Chaturvedi allegedly treated Karzai in a coarse and abrasive manner and spoke to him while chewing and spitting out tobacco.

Government Sanctions Dismissal
Because of the repeated instances of incompetence and scandals during Chaturvedi’s tenure and the continuing decline of the intelligence agency, it was reported by the Indian and foreign press that the R&AW chief would be removed from his post. If that happens, it will be the first time when a serving head of R&AW would be sacked.
It was reported that several Western intelligence agencies were reluctant to share classified information with R&AW’s top officials, because of Chaturvedi. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and other senior officials of his secretariat were unhappy with him as a result. [
Adding to Chaturvedi's problems, his health has seriously deteriorated and his forced retirement is being discussed by the government. The R&AW chief was admitted for a week to Escorts Heart Institute and Research Centre, a specialist cardiac hospital in New Delhi, and diagnosed with pericardial effusion, which is the build-up of fluid around the heart resulting in hypertension, severe chest pain, and difficulty in breathing.
In addition, Chaturvedi's addiction to chewing tobacco has resulted in him becoming diabetic and contracting leukoplakia. He has tried to use homeopathic medicine to cure the problem as conventional medicine has failed to work. Leukoplakia is a problem also shared by Chaturvedi's wife, Asha.
The Middle East Times revealed that at a closed-door meeting at the start of 2008 which all of India's intelligence and military chiefs were present, Chaturvedi was asked for his opinion on the upcoming security challenges the country faced. The R&AW chief presented his views while chewing tobacco and sounding incoherent. Narayanan asked him to clean out his mouth. But "Embarrassment turned to humiliation when Chaturvedi resumed his analysis only to be told by Narayanan that he was making more sense when the tobacco was in his mouth." [56]
The pressure to sack him on the grounds of gross incompetence had reached Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who supported by senior leaders in the ruling Congress Party, gave his approval to quietly remove Chaturvedi. [57]
Chaturvedi made a direct personal appeal to Congress Party President Sonia Gandhi to save his job, claiming that he was not in good health and that he should be allowed to serve out the remainder of his service period. Gandhi, passed the responsibility for the decision to Narayanan with her recommendation for a review. Narayanan deferred making any decision thus reprieving Chaturvedi. G.S. Bajpai, a former head of RAW and Tripathi's father-in law, also intervened and pleaded the case to keep Chaturvedi when it looked like he would be sacked. Quoting souces from the Prime Minister’s Office, the Middle East Times claimed that "The Congress Party was worried that if Chaturvedi was sacked it would be a sign of admitting that they had made a mistake." [58]
Criticism has focused on Narayanan himself, who despite being a respected figure within India for his record with the domestic spy agency, the Intelligence Bureau (IB), he has had to take criticism for sanctioning Chaturvedi's appointment and continuing in persisting with him.

Jaipur Terrorist Attack
On May 13, 2008, nine synchronized bomb blasts targeted Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan state. Over 60 people were killed and some 200 injured. It has now transpired that a Western intelligence agency had obtained information toward the end of April pointing to the potential of terrorist attacks in a number of Indian cities which included Mumbai (Bombay), Hyderabad, Kolkata (Calcutta) and notably Jaipur. The information was passed to Chaturvedi, however, the R&AW chief had reduced his work commitments due to his bad health and was seen more often at the Delhi golf club than his office. As a result he left the intelligence assessment to be analyzed by Sanjiv Tripathi. It is alleged that Tripathi either ignored the intelligence assessment or did not view it to be important enough to act upon and the information was not shared with any of India's other intelligence or police agencies. What IPhone doesn't have

Well Iphone was released couple of days back with much fancy in INDIA. I know many people who were eager about it (but when they heard the price they really got pissed off... LOL). But here are few features what Iphone doesn't have and which you can even find it in Low-range mobiles available in market now.

Thought you would record that party video on your iPhone? Sorry, iPhone will disappoint you here. It has no video recording option. This is quite surprising since video recording feature is today found in most cellphones, even those at the lower end.

Also, next time when you plan a video conference, don't depend on your expensive icon, of course.

There were speculations that Apple would go for a higher-resolution camera. However, 3G iPhone has disappointed as it has the same 2 megapixel (MP) camera. Flash and optical zoom are missing too.

Most of Apple's rivals like Nokia, Sony Ericsson and Samsung are offering much higher resolution cameras. However, credit where due: The pictures taken on iPhone -- despite a 2 megapixel camera -- belie that number and turn out quite clear.

This one is shocking! Of all things, one cannot simply forward a text message. Users can only send text messages or snapshots via email. Also, don't think of sending a SMS to multiple contacts as iPhone has no option for that either.

So no more bulk messages on Holi, Diwali, Christmas, New Year and the like! Did we hear the two operators cursing Apple for that loss of revenue opportunity!

Two other glaring ‘misses’ include lack of multimedia messaging controls and voice dialing. It lacks support for voice-recognition to let users dial verbally. The iPhone also disappoints fans who were hoping for a bundle of new multimedia features in the second generation 3G iPhone.

o cut, copy-and-paste has already drawn much ire from iPhone's fans.

Imagine you cannot even select a line of text to delete it. And how bad can it be living without copy and paste option. Especially when you want to post a URL in your blog! How tedious it would be to jot it down, word by painful word.

Most of the smart phones available in the market support the cut and paste feature, but somehow Apple has preferred to stay away from it.

Also, it lacks support for multi-select. It will give users a tough time deleting every email one by one as they cannot delete mails in bulk. Same goes for photo albums. Users have to delete the same too one by one.

All ye heavy phone users, you cannot change an iPhone battery. You will have to send it to an Apple outlet for this. Imagine how troublesome it would be to live without your phone for 2-3days. And that is an optimistic estimate of the time that you may spend twiddling your thumbs!

Both user replaceable battery and tactile feedback for the touchscreen have been given a miss in the new iPhone.

Though Apple reportedly claims that it left out the user-replaceable battery because it adds bulk and weight, users can't help comparing it with other smart phones.

Seems Apple is walking on a different path here also. iPhone offers no support for wireless modem. You may pay heavy data charges to activate Internet on your iPhone, but you cannot connect it to your PC and browse when you are at home.

Almost all 3G phones support this feature, but Apple chooses to stay away from it.

iPhone can't sync with Bluetooth stereo or in-car Bluetooth handsfree. It lacks A2DP on Bluetooth. A2DP audio devices, such as stereo Bluetooth headsets, offer high quality listening ability.

For example, while iPhone supports Bluetooth headsets, the lack of keyboard or headphone would be a hindrance for those who want to optimise their experience with wireless peripherals.

Also, surprisingly it you cannot share MP3, images and video files via Bluetooth, half the fun is gone.

n case you wish to see those multimedia files that require Flash, you will have to do away with them.

Sadly, there is no support for Adobe Flash in 3G iPhone. Though, Adobe says it is working on iPhone Flash.

Presently, when users will browse through Web pages with Adobe Flash it will display empty spaces with missing icons. Apple claims Flash would run too slowly on the iPhone.

Thus, the lack of Flash support for the Safari Web browser limits the access of several websites on the iPhone.

However, iPhone offers YouTube support. But how? Here's a catch. Users cannot get all YouTube video, but only a few selected ones that have been rolled out for the Apple-favored H.264 video codec. So, this means you can't go on sharing your videos

Last, but not the least, be aware that as a customer you are unlikely to get much support from the operators in setting up your haloed iPhone. And since setting it up would be essential to use a number of features.

According to our first impressions, sending out the cool pics you shoot through iPhone's excellent 2 megapixel camera will be a challenge unless you have set up the email accounts.

Same goes for seamlessly syncing it with the Apps Store which will allow you to download much-talked about free as well as paid apps through iTunes. Since iTunes is not exactly very popular in this part of the world except among the iPod users, that would be another necessary headache.

Also, iPhone doesn't offer the option of ringtone customisation. This means you cannot set SMS alert tones for your boss or say your best friend. Almost all cellphones have multiple profiles and option to edit or create more. However, the iPhone comes only with two options: ring or silent. Users cannot download ringtones from anywhere except iTunes.

Besides, please do remember, unlike the true Push platform enjoyed by Blackberry, the iPhone email client does not work in true Push fashion, but is more of a "pull" mail.

Religion Blinds

Here comes a post from my fav blogger Mr. Sujai

Religion comes with theology; but most religious people do not indulge in it. Religion comes with spirituality; but very few devout people actually concentrate on it. Religion however comes with huge paraphernalia of rituals, customs, traditions seeped in blind belief and superstition. And most believers actually practice this kind of religion.

This ritualistic and superstitious facet of religion is the most prevalent form the believers practice. It blinds people. It blinds them from receiving new knowledge, stops them from becoming wiser, and curbs originality and creativity. It forbids them from thinking farther and beyond, and makes them more of a robot and less of a thinker.

Religion stems wisdom, stops people from making sense, rationalize, think and reason. It makes them unreasonable and dogmatic. These people refuse to change views in spite of counter evidence. It makes them hang on to blind belief, orthodoxy and superstition.

There are many ideologies and belief systems that make a person blind to reason. So why single out religion in my attack?

Many other ideologies qualify for the same problems posed by religion. However, there is no other potent force on earth that comes close to religion in terms of its extent, depth, longevity and effectiveness. Religion is altogether a different beast.

For example, people who subscribe to an ideology like communism tend to face the same problems cited above. They are blinded. They do not reason, they are dogmatic, and unreasonable. However, communism as an ideology started less than hundred years ago, gripped only certain portion of people, and is already dying. The newer generations coming from the shadow of communism tend to detest it with more vigor than others.

Religion has killed more people, made more people act barbaric, act uncivilized, commit genocide, rape, and murder than any other ideology. It is embraced by more people than any other ideology, and exists for much longer time and continues to increase in efficacy with time.

These are some attributes where religion beats all other ideologies.

Kill and Die

No other ideology produces people with the same level of commitment and fanaticism to kill and die. More religious fanatics are ready to kill and die to defend their belief system and impose their belief system onto others. Unlike adherents of capitalism, communism, or globalization, the adherents of religion are ready to kill and get killed much more enthusiastically. The only other ideology that comes close to this is patriotism (but it ranks lower than religion).

Inheritance

No other ideology gets inherited the way religion does. A child in Christian family is invariably a Christian. For ages, kids born into Christian families tend to be Christians. (In some cases, proselytizing and conversion tend to change the ratios, but the neo-converts tend to practice this inheritance with more vigor). People born into a religious family tend to be religious. That is not true to most other ideologies. A son of communist need not be a communist. A son of capitalist need not be capitalist.

Catch them young

No other ideology seems to target young children the way religion does. Unlike most other ideologies, religion is taught to young children. Indoctrination of religion starts very young and the concept of God and the concept of heaven and hell, sin and blind rules are introduced to kids who are just two or three years old. They are told, ‘God forbids this, God likes this. Do it this way, God will reward you! Don’t do this, God will punish you!’

Not many communists teach their young kids Communism. Nobody says to his three-year old kid, ‘Don’t do this! Lenin will not like it’ or ‘Do this! Lenin will praise you for it’

Curb creativity and original thought

No other ideology curbs creativity and original thought the way religion does. Though patriotism qualifies for the above three attributes, religion beats it on this. Also, it starts doing its job attacking people at a quite young age. By answering most mundane questions by saying ‘God said so, and hence it is so!’ and ‘God created this, and hence it is so!’ the original thought is curbed. By forbidding people from doing things calling it a sin, and imposing mundane habits as if they are unquestionable diktats of god, and introducing prejudices quite early on as if they are unchangeable rules, religion curbs creativity, makes people illogical, prejudiced and unreasonable.

Blind belief is a virtue in religion. Faith in extremely nonsensical things is hallmark of devoutness. Subscribing to most ridiculous practices is hallmark of piety. Many other ideologies seem to prescribe these attributes, but religion does this more effectively – affecting the state and its apparatus, the institutions, society, and the individual.

Abandon and reject rational thought

Other ideologies such as communism, patriotism, nationalism and even racism seem to have evolved and at some level they have incorporated rational thought and results of science, sometimes flawed. But not religion! Religion stands against all rational thought, suppresses debate, discourages empiricism, thwarts logical reasoning, and in most cases rejects the theories and results of science.

Longevity

We have had problems with other ideologies, either it is nationalism, fascism, Nazism, or communism, but many of these ideologies have not been there forever. They had their own times when they reached the pinnacle and then they subsided. Not religion. People have been fighting over religions since the inception of religion itself. And it has not subsided and it has not let up. More and more people join in throngs and swell the ranks. It has more adherents than any other ideology and the enmities and persecutions continue for thousands of years. Casteism in India would have not have survived for two thousand years if it was not made a part of the religion itself. The same is with persecution of Jews.

Intelligent but lack in reason

It’s not that religious people are dumb. In fact, they can be very intelligent. Some of them could be more intelligent than the entire non-religious people combined. What the religious people lack is not intelligence. What they have given up along the way is their ability to reason when it comes to certain issues of life and society. In face of counter evidence, instead of looking at it and inspecting it, the religious people would like to dismiss the evidence as false. They would like to say, ‘Look! What you say seems to make sense, yet I would not like to get convinced by you’. Religion legitimizes foolishness like no other. It’s like saying, ‘what you are doing is actually foolish, but since it is prescribed by religion, I respect that!’

Is it LoVe or LuSt?

Love and lust are inextricably intertwined. Lust is ground zero for hormones — it's nature's way of bringing the opposite sexes together. In fact, without lust, it's doubtful that love between a man and a woman would have a chance to prosper at all; which is also the reason why sexless marriages fail.

However, love is the most ennobling of human emotions — transcendental, exalted and capable of engendering emotional states.

But how can you tell the difference between lust and love? Read on to find out.

It's lust if:

You're totally focussed on looks and body
Even before you know your crush's name, you're already fantasising about them and drooling over their looks.

You don't care about anything they have to say
It wouldn't make a difference to you if you never had a conversation with your crush. Furthermore, you don't bother to return calls promptly and you can easily go for days without talking to this person.

You don't mind checking out other hotties, or looking at other people, like friends, to satisfy your emotional needs.

You spend most of your together time in 'action'
You make excuses not to spend time, unless it's in the confines of a room. And if they ask you for a favour, you say you're too busy. But if you have to be together and not have sex, you find them boring and look forward to doing something else like going shopping by yourself.

You leave after sex
After having sex, you look for the easiest way to leave. No cuddling, no breakfast the next morning, just "I gotta go".

It's love if:

You have great chemistry
You get lost in your conversations and the hours pass like minutes. You're more than willing to listen to each other and sex rocks too. The chemistry between you is remarkable.

You like the way they look
Even if you catch them on a bad hair day and in the worst of their clothes, they still look gorgeous to you.

You want to spend some time together
All you want to do is to be with them, while you're having sex and even when you're not.

You see a future together
You experience the strange feeling that your life would be totally empty without that person. You tell your friends and family that he/ she may be 'the one', and you're even thinking about marriage.

You introduce them to your friends and family
It becomes very important to you that your parents like him/ her, and that he/ she gets along with everyone close to you.

You include them in all your plans
Whether you're going out with your friends or taking your dog for a walk, you want them there with you.

And if they're not there, you can't get them off your mind and sneak off to give them a quick "I miss you" phone call.

You are more romantic
All of a sudden you find yourself listening to cheesy romantic songs and thinking of him/ her. You send them flowers and set up romantic evenings candlelit dinners.

25 Ailments That Can Be Cured By Having Sex

Sex is one of life’s most enjoyable physical pleasures, but did you know that it’s also great for your overall health? That’s right-sex has been found to help with conditions ranging from the common cold to high blood pressure. And although you’re not likely to come home from your next doctor’s appointment with a scribbled prescription for sex, it can be highly effective as a preventative measure and complementary treatment. Read on to find out what conditions you’re protecting yourself from every time you enjoy a roll in the hay.
  1. Depression: Without the help of researchers, just about anyone can agree that sex will make you feel good about yourself and just a bit more confident. But one researcher has said there’s a scientific explanation that goes a bit farther. Professor Gordon Gallop says that there’s an unknown chemical in semen that has an antidepressant effect on women.
  2. Pregnancy: Sex is both the cause and the cure for pregnancy. Women who are ready to induce labor often have sex to speed up the process, and research backs up this method. Semen contains prostaglandins, which help the cervix prepare to open, and orgasms produce oxytocin, which will help cause contractions.
  3. Headaches: Although sex can sometimes bring on a headache, it can cure them too. The tension release your body experiences during and after sex can ease restricted blood vessels in the brain.
  4. Menstrual cramps: Sex acts as an analgetic to relieve menstrual pain, primarily because of the relaxation and endorphins sex brings.
  5. Arthritis: In his book, “How to Treat Arthritis with Sex and Alcohol,” rheumatologist Carter V. Multz asserts that sex, as well as alcohol and other complementary treatments, can reduce pain, swelling, and inflammation associated with arthritis.
  6. Common cold: Manfred Schedlovski, a Swiss researcher from Zurich, asserts that sex has a positive effect on phagocytes, which are a part of the immune system that goes after alien bodies, like cold germs, and kills them. Phagocytes are increased signficantly during sex, and will often double after orgasm.
  7. Stress: Orgasms offer a great way to relax, and even nonorgasmic sex offers some relief. Dr. Joshua Golden asserts sex’s relaxation properties, as well as emotional benefits.
  8. Tooth decay: Kissing, as well as oral sex, encourages saliva production. This increase in saliva helps to wash food particles from your teeth, prevents plaque build-up, and helps lower decay-causing acid. Additionaly, seminal plasma has been shown to help prevent tooth decay.
  9. Erectile dysfunction: By exercising your Kegel muscles with frequent sex and delaying ejaculation, men can help strengthen muscles enough to help with minor erection problems.
  10. High blood pressure: Semen has been found to lower blood pressure in women. Specifically, swallowing semen can help ward off preeclampsia, which is a dangerously high blood pressure that sometimes occurs during pregnancy.
  11. Insomnia: Many people find that the relaxation they experience after sex helps them go to sleep.
  12. Prostate cancer: Men who ejaculate more frequently have been found to be at a lower risk of developing prostate cancer.
  13. Hangovers: Sex may not save your liver, but it will help you shake off a funk. Having sex will help boost your endorphins and oxytocins, which stimulate muscle contraction and help you avoid aggressiveness.
  14. Toxic system: Sex gets your blood pumping faster, which helps to rid the body of waste.
  15. Heart disease: Studies have shown that if men have sex twice a week or more, they tend to have a lower risk of heart attack. For women, increased levels of estrogen caused by sex help to protect against heart disease.
  16. Stubborn wounds: Studies have found that oxytocin, which is released during sex, can help wounds heal faster.
  17. Low energy: Sex increases energy through exercise and emotional well-being.
  18. Minor cognitive problems: Whenever you become sexually excited or have an orgasm, the hormone DHEA is released. DHEA has been found to improve cognition.
  19. Skin irritations: The sweat released during sex will cleanse your pores, helping to relieve rashes, blemishes, and other skin problems.
  20. Pain: Orgasm releases endorphins, which will alleviate pain for just about everything.
  21. Obesity: Although few doctors are likely to prescribe a sex diet, the fact is that sex is a form of exercise. Performing the act of sex requires physical activity that will burn calories and strengthen your heart. It’s an especially great exercise for those who have little motivation to get to the gym.
  22. Incontinence: Every time you have sex, you’re exercising your Kegel muscles, which are the same ones you use to stem the flow of urine.
  23. Weak bones and muscles: Sex brings on a boost of testosterone, which helps to make your bones and muscles strong.
  24. Semen allergy: Unfortunately, some women are allergic to their partner’s semen. However, along with other treatments, frequent sex has been found to work as an effective desensitization therapy for this allergy.
  25. Death: That’s right, sex can help ward off death for men. Professor Stuart Brody reports that men who orgasm twice a week are half as likely to die as those who only orgasm once a month.

Homosexuality: Nature or nurture?

This is an article which I read in Sunday times of pune edition yesterday, so felt like sharing with you guys.

Does homosexuality arise from nature or nurture? It's an argument that has raged around the world for a long time. But scientific research increasingly seems to be tilting the debate in favour of nature.

In case of male conjoined twins, if one is homosexual, the other is likely to show similar tendencies, although the same may not hold true in case of females. In 1991, Boston University psychiatrist Richard Pillard and Northwestern University psychologist J Michael Bailey found that in identical twins, if one twin was gay, the other had about a 50% chance of also being gay.

In 1993, Harvard-trained researcher Dean Hamer found that gay brothers shared a specific region of the X chromosome, called Xq28, at a higher rate than gay men shared with their straight brothers.

Shortly thereafter, Newsweek ran a cover story on the subject, 'Gay Gene?'. Then, in the midst of a landmark legislation battle in the state of Colorado which raised the question of whether homosexuality was normal, innate and unchangeable, a prominent researcher testified, "I am 99.5% certain that homosexuality is genetic."

In 1994, two Canadian researchers discovered a statistical relationship between the number of ridges on men's fingertips and homosexuality, contributing additional evidence to the theory that sexual orientation can be influenced by biological events that occur at conception or early in fetal life.

J A Y Hall and D Kimura of the University of Western Ontario examined the fingerprints of 66 homosexual and 182 heterosexual men, comparing the number of ridges on the index finger and thumb of the left hand with the number of ridges on the index finger and thumb of the right hand.

If the number of ridges on the index finger and thumb of the left hand exceeds the number of ridges on the index finger and thumb of the right hand, one's fingerprints are said to exhibit leftward directional asymmetry. Hall and Kimura found such leftward directional asymmetry in the fingerprints of 30% of their homosexual subjects versus 14% of their heterosexuals.

"Some may refute such theories but they essentially point to the fact that homosexuality is, to some extent, determined even before a child is born," says gay activist Ashok R Kavi, who runs Humsafar Trust.

"Another study has found that in case of males, if there is less testosterone (male hormone) secretion during the development stage, they may have some girlish traits, and could even be attracted to boys. Daryl Bemm, a psychology professor at New York's Cornell University, had propounded a theory that hormonal levels are the causes of homosexuality," adds Kavi.

Interestingly, zoologists have discovered that homosexual and bisexual activity is not unknown within the animal kingdom. Experts say that all in all, as many as 1,500 different species of birds and animals are known to have displayed homosexual behavior.

Researcher and author Bruce Bagemihl documented such characteristics among birds, mammals and insects in his book Biological Exuberance: Animal Homosexuality and Natural Diversity, published in 1999.

"No species has been found in which homosexual behavior has not been shown to exist, with the exception of species that never have sex at all, such as sea urchins and aphis. Moreover, a part of the animal kingdom ishermaphroditic, truly bisexual. For them, homosexuality is not an issue."

That was the verdict of Petter Beckman, academic adviser for the 'AgainstNature?' exhibit - an exhibition on homosexuality in animals in The Natural History Museum, University of Oslo, Norway to illustrate that it is not unnatural.

So, if homosexuality can be the result of genetics, and if it exists throughout the animal kingdom, logically it cannot be unnatural. But the Indian legal system thinks otherwise. As per section 377 of the Indian Penal Code, any intercourse which goes against the "law of nature" is illegal.

But what exactly does the term mean? Some would argue that it is adapted from the religious belief that intercourse that doesn't lead to procreation is unnatural.

But by that definition, apart from homosexuality, all other forms of non-reproductive sexual activities become unnatural, including contraception.

Says gay activist Lesley Esteves, "We are born this way, we are not perverts. People have to understand that it's not a matter of choice to get attracted to someone from the same sex or from the opposite sex. And it doesn't have only sexual connotations. The relationship between two people from the same sex could be equally romantic as that between a man and a woman. So classifying us as criminals and penalizing us under section 377 is very unfair to us."

An 18-year-old, who has "just discovered" his sexuality and found out that he gets attracted to "his types" more than to girls, says: "I am feeling very apprehensive about my future. If society and laws don't penalize someone born a eunuch, why are people like us singled out?"

Virtual World !!!

Well this post I am writing on my experience as well as seeing other people’s experience on extensive use of virtual world for personal satisfaction.

Well this post is not on people who talk with their “real” friends through internet, but this is on people who try to make friends (well I think everyone try to make b.f/g.f thru it) and also people who write their personal experiences on their blog.

Y do people do this? Well if I conclude these kinda people who extensively are hooked up to virtual world, have certain flaws in them. I cannot describe the flaw, but it is something due to which they cannot find themselves attractive enough to stimulate opposite sex. And the easier medium for them is “virtual world”.

Well chatting is dimensionless. People can’t see your flaws and you can easily camouflage you flaws on Internet. You can talk with confidence with the opposite sex cause neither they can see you or cant recognize your flaws. But ultimately they don’t realize that they meet people in real world and have to live life in the real world. So instead of taking shortcut and finding friends in virtual world, I can suggest them to find their flaws and improve upon them so that they can make friends in the real world who are more reliable and honest compared to friends in virtual world.

Also people share their personal experience on blogs. Well I have lot of friends with whom I can share things with them, so I don’t require the help of blog to share things with persons whom I hardly know. Yeah they can comment, but they hardly know me and which kinda situation or circumstances I hve been through, so I wont find their comment quite related to me. I think this kinda people want to communicate with strangers and share things with them cause somewhere in real world they cant do it. They hve certain flaws which are keeping themselves away from the real people of real world.

So I don’t know whether these people (these people, I think I am categorizing them LOL) should introspect the role of virtual world in their life. They shud concentrate on the flaws in them cause of which they have got hooked up to virtual world and try to improve the flaws to have better life in real world.

MALE CHAUVINIST

Well it has 10 days since I m here in Switzerland, and the trip has been quite borin as usual. Neway fortunately or unfortunately sum of my colleagues of Rieter India (of sum other branch) hve landed up here.

Last Sunday as I had sum work so I stayed back at my hotel, reading sum technical documents. So in afternoon one of my colleagues came to meet at my hotel room (on later on part I will refer him as MCP (Male chauvinist pig) which my sweetheart calls me affectionately x-( )

MCP: Hi vishal how r u
Me: Well fine as usual

After sum trivial talks

Me: Uhh do u hve ne g.f?
MCP: Nope, but I m getting married by December, hve fixed a girl!!
Me: fixed a girl (wht a fuckin language is he talking). Ahh very good, congratulations

After sum discussion abt the girl her whereabts n wht she is doin etc

Me: Errr do u expect ur wud b wife to b VIRGIN? (I dunno y I asked him this question)
MCP: Wht the hell are you talking, of course she shud b virgin
Me: Ahh hmm y?
MCP: Wht y, cause I m virgin so she shud b.
Me: Wow wht an answer , oh ya ur rite, hmmm wud u expect her to u abusive words, like normally guys do or even u do?
MCP: Ofcourse not
Me: Good , aaah do u expect her to smoke as u?
MCP: Are u gone mad vishal, of course not
Me: BTW y r u marryin?
MCP: To get over my lonliness, and for sum sex too
Me: Wht the fuck, Oh good ya UR RIGHT!!!

I dunno why males in INDIA are so chauvinist… Why they expect their wife’s to be virgin, shud utter only good worlds , shud not smoke, booze wht ever in short shud have good qualities of “adarsh bahu”, while they can do whtever they want.

As I m virgin, hence she shud b virgin. Now wht kinda answer is tht. Why is ur morality or character a benchmark for her. She shudnt smoke, why the hell she shudnt when u can smoke?

And I m marrying to get over my loneliness and as I m deprived of sex these many years. Now all my fundamentals of marriage got just fucked up by this answer.

Y do u marry? For sex? For removing ur loneliness? Mite b they can b one of the parameters for getting married but certainly not the only parameters.

Neway I didn’t talk much with him after tht day after knowin his mentality.

My stand for Homosexuality

Homosexuality. Wow, even the most rational and liberal minds distant themselves for discussion on this topic. Conservatives mites say that this is "against nature", "unnatural", "abnormal".
First of all let’s define “against nature” or “unnatural” word. Well I think this means, things which are not occurring according nature's law or not found in nature. Let’s forget humans, homosexual behavior has been observed animal kingdom in 1500 species and 500 of them is documented. Now if all this things are found in animal kingdom then I don’t think this things are so called "unnatural"

Now let’s define abnormal. It means things which are not normal or normally people don't do it or majority doesn't do it. Then I think even atheism is abnormal, even Sachin Tendulkar is abnormal guy cause talent he poses no other normal human-being has. (Well I think the comparison was bad).

I can't understand how homosexuality can harm society. This relationship is mutually agreed by two adults of same sex, and their relationship doesn't harm them or the society. Its just a pure form of love, homosexuals love each other with same intensity as any other "normal" heterosexuals will do.

Is sexual orientation by choice? Well I think it’s not because of choice but for most people, sexual orientation emerges in early adolescence without any prior sexual experience. Although we can choose whether to act on our feelings, psychologists do not consider sexual orientation to be a conscious choice that can be voluntarily changed.

So guys just enjoy been in love, whether with same sex or opposite sex or even with both.

I am not expecting anybody to comment on this topic, same as I never expected nebody to comment of CANNABIS post. I don't know why people are afraid to comment on such "unnatural" and "abnormal" topics.

What is Love ?

My girlfriend is gonna screw me for this blog. LOL. She mite become paranoid of my "constant love" towards her. We had a discussion regarding love, according to her "love" of a person towards another person should be constant through the life. Mite be the person be your husband/wife, father/mother, friends. First of all what is love? After lot of introspection, I just concluded what is love? (Highly subjective). Why don't we fall in love with any one, why don’t we fall in love with mentally handicapped person, physically handicapped person, with a irritating person, with a boring person, with your maid/servant, with any people of other religion, with lower caste people, with people who doesn’t match your mentality, with your enemies, with some prostitute, with people having bad looks, with person who doesn’t earn, with fat people, with people with same sex, with a psycho, why, why why? Why we want the person whom we love to care for us, should earn good amount money, should have respectable position, should be intelligent, should be smart, should be handsome/beautiful, should have good figure/physic, should be fair, should have good speech, show affection towards us, should not be addictive to smoke, should not be addictive to alcohol, should not have bad habits, why, why why? Isn't that all selfish. LOVE IS SELFISH. In the category of selfishness it holds the paramount position, which people don’t realise.

Why you love your friends, boyfriend/girlfriend is because of your selfishness. Then how can selfishness be constant throughout your life? Your selfishness keeps on changing throughout your life. What happens if your boyfriend/girlfriend physically and mentally abuses you thorough your life, still then your love will be constant for him/her. What happens if your bf/gf discards you, then also your love will be constant for him/her. What happens if your spouse tells that he/she won’t have sex with you any more throughout the life, still then your love will remain constant (If not then its lust, again highly subjective). Why is love so much demanding? Why does your bf/gf want you to give him/her paramount importance? Why are you so much possessive about your gf/bf? What happens if you suddenly see your gf/bf talking away to glory with opposite sex at a restaurant? Doesn’t that hurt you? Aren’t you selfish, aren’t you egoistic.

If you think this selfishness is ok, normal then all kind of selfishness and egoism should be ok. A person who is highly selfish should not be considered as a bad guy. A person, who doesn’t help others, backstabs at his friends/colleagues for his/her own benefit should not be considered bad person. A politician who makes people fight/hate each other on basis of religion/caste/language for his own selfish interest shouldn’t be considered bad. A person who doesn’t follow traffic rules for his own selfish interest shouldn’t be considered bad. A person who kills somebody else for his own selfish interest shouldn’t be considered as bad person.

Aren’t we been hypocrite by showing different attitude to different type of selfishness.

Mite be I m cynic, but that’s my perspective.

Anyway hail LOVE, that is one of the most beautiful thing ever to happen to me, even though selfish. And I am enjoying it.

Ignorance regarding CANNABIS

What the hell, Why is this guy talking about cannabis suddenly? Has he gone mad? All drugs are same. Doesn't he knows how harmful is drugs? Drugs are so addictive they kill people? Drugs users talk bullshit while taking drugs? They become addictive and do nothing in life. It is the worst thing every happened to mankind. It should be banned.

Ok guys before you start to post your conjecture opinions more on cannabis, how much of you have done research on cannabis, grass, hash, LSD? Let me start by classifying different type of drugs. Basically there are three types

1. Hard drugs: These type drugs are physically highly addictive, easier to overdoes, posing serious health and social risks and have high physical withdrawal symptoms. Example of this kind of substance is Cocaine, Heroin, Morphine, Alcohol and nicotine (tobacco).

2. Soft drugs: These type of drugs have very less physical addictiveness, and pose no or very less withdrawal symptoms. Example of this kind of substance is Cannabis, LSD, Grass and Hash (Ganja and Charas in Hindi).

In-between drugs are stuffs which have properties in between Hard and Soft drugs for e.g. caffeine.

So as you can see the effect of Alcohol and nicotine are more harmful compared to cannabis (Ganja and Charas). So what is the problem if people smoke cannabis and why should it made illegal in INDIA, when alcohol and tobacco are been sold legally. This is height of ignorance and hypocrisy.

Country like Netherlands has high tolerance towards possession of cannabis and they have many coffeshops in which person can buy and smoke cannabis freely.

By the way the above stuff is quite subjective and matter of discretion. Please do some research before commenting on this topic.

Staying in INDIA

Tolerating Indian mentality has become very irritating for me these days. Sometimes I think why, why I am in this country, when I have the opportunity to got and reside in some developed country and spend a quality life there.

You have overcrowded city transport system. During peak hours I cannot take the city bus to go anywhere, as all are jam-packed. Taking auto is another pain in your ass. You have to argue with the autowalas for the fare, which should be applicable to the destination.

Then riding bike in this “god made” roads just screws your head. No traffic discipline, just people riding according to their leisure. Road full of potholes or should I say pothole with sum road on it. There are no proper footpaths for pedestrian to walk.

People spiting tobacco on the road, footpath and even on stairs. So much pollution and suspended particles in atmosphere.

Also for good life, the ratio of money spend to money earned is less in developed countries compared to INDIA.

And most of the INDIANS have very irrational mentality. Be it belief in god, lack traffic discipline, work culture, selecting your political leader, behaving with others, not having unconventional ideas, not respecting people from other religions, caste, language, not respecting physical as well as mentally handicapped people, irrational perception of sex, drugs, not respecting homosexual peoples, concept of arrange marriage, concept of staying with your parents, liking for fair people. So many hypocrites, bigots and irrational people here. The list is too long.

Why should I stay in such kind of environment? Some fanatic will say, that you should be patriotic to your country and shouldn’t speak like this and do something for your country rather than discussing. Some people even say me traitor. See first of all I am a selfish guy like any normal human being, when I have opportunity to go out why shouldn’t I? Don’t people change their company, city, state to work in some other place? Aren’t they patriotic to their company, city or state?

Its not like that I am going for money to some other country, I am earning a good amount of money to suffice my needs, but I cannot tolerate such irrationality. Why should I waste my life is such bad ambience, I alone cannot change the system. So better go in some good system.

Indian Parents

Well this post I am writing from my experience of my life and my other friends life. First of all I hate the interference of parents in a child's life. Why don't they respect and trust the discussions taken by the child after all he/she is now adult and mature enough. First of all their interference will come why one wants to marry a girl/boy of his/her preference. If the opposite sex be of another caste or another religion what difference doest it makes. Parents say that society won’t accept such relationship. Are parents more bothered about society or their child’s? Another argument is that she/he will not able to settle at would be spouse place. Now who are they to decide, what the rationality is there behind it. The person knows better with whom he/she has to spend life, and if it’s a wrong discussion he/she will face the consequence.

They can believe in the institution called arrange marriage, in which the parents hardly knows the guy/gal and they think that this would be the best choice for their child. This is a height of hypocrisy. When they say their child cannot marry opposite choice of his/her preference, whom the child knows much better but they will go for arrange marriage where they hardly know the other guy/girl.

Other thing I have seen the freedom for females are curbed too much. I don’t know whether guys are rebellious or parents are liberal towards them, but for females a typical Indian parents are next to disaster. I agree that they are parents, but that doesn't mean that they have to encroach the privacy and space of the child saying that they are parents and have more experience, bla bla etc.Females cannot study much, if at all she studies then she cannot work cause she has to be servant in her husband house, then she cannot move to far away place to work and if she wants she has to take permission from parents.

Ok I agree there mite b sum good urban parents who don’t follow this, but I am talking abt general Indian parents. Another point is parents want to stay with their child even though he has grown up and even married. They say they want support in their old age. Ok come on u have grown old but not handicapped. Old age isn’t excuse to be dependent on your child or anybody else. Respect your child privacy and space. Let him/her allow doing anything because its their life and they are in the better position to judge their doings. Parents can give suggestion but they cannot be dogmatic and force their opinions on their children.

Is this matter of EGO for parents?

Shiv Sena and Valentine day

Here comes my favorite party Shiv Sena and Bajrang Dal. I love these people because they only have the moral sense of protecting Indian Culture by stopping celebration of valentine day. My favorite party says as Valentine day is not part of “Indian Culture” hence we should not celebrate it. And how should we stop people from celebrating it? By burning Valentine cards, vandalizing shops selling valentine cards, beating up shopkeepers, yes and all this are part of our Indian culture.

Very good, you are the true representative and protector of Indian Culture. You guys get into corruption, bribing, rioting, vandalizing etc and all these things are the part of Indian culture hence you should do it and I fully agree with you. I am PROUD of you.

Non sense traffic, high unemployment rate, high illiteracy rate, high number of people below poverty line, filthy roads, no footpath etc these all are part of our Indian culture but Valentine day it is not hence we should oppose this vehemently I completely agree with you.

Thackeray gone mad

Has this guy gone mad or what? What in the TV I saw that MNS workers were beating up hapless taxi guys and hawkers of North Indian origin. Now what is the rationality behind that? Can't any Indian coming from other states reside in here peacefully?

Raj Thackeray has the objection, that people of North India celebrate their festival here. Now balls, what the difference doest it make to him. Are those guys harming him or any other Marathis is any way. And if he is so concerned they why doesn't his men bash up many North Indian goons residing in Mumbai.

His other objection is North Indians are taking up jobs of Marathis. Come on man this is the age of survival of fittest. Those who has skill and talent will survive or they will go down the drain.

There are many instances of Indians residing in Britain, US of A, Australia etc facing racism, or local people harassing them. Now when people in our country are facing music when shifting to some other states, then what kind of decency we can expect from people of other countries. Indians residing in other countries, support INDIA whenever our national cricket team goes on tour to that country, then according to Mr. Raj Thackeray this is wrong. Indians should support England or Australia according to him. And if they don’t, locals should go and beat them. Am I correct Mr. Raj

Calling "Sir"

Well I am an engineer graduate and I have worked through couple of engineering companies. One of the traditional things, which I have seen and hate the most in these engineering companies is that you have to call your boss as "sir". Now what the hell is that? Are you knighted or what?

I have heard in some IT and ITes companies, most of them have policy that employees should not call their next seniors as "sir", which I appreciate. Once I had a written a mail to G. M of my company and in salutation I had written Mr. Xyz instead of Mr. Xyz sir. Damn!! I came to know he got agitated because of my email, and complained to our M. D that I am arrogant, aggressive and what not.

We are servants or what that we have to call you "sir". Respect should be earned not be forcefully taken. And just calling someone "sir" doest means that you respect him or her.

And if you call your boss by first name that tends to make your relationship with your boss more close and you can share your problems with him openly.
